Andrea Schiavi - Founder CEO is the owner of Schiavi Seeds LLC. Schiavi moved from northern Italy to the United States in 2004, and maintains family interests in thoroughbred breeding and racing in Italy, Ireland and the US. Schiavi Seeds LLC was founded in 2015 when Schiavi secured exclusive rights to import various important certified European strains of hemp seeds for North America. Since 2015, Schiavi has assisted various state Departments of Agriculture and universities to secure certified hemp seeds for their hemp research programs.
Karen K. Dixon - Founder & COO is a co-owner of Schiavi Seeds LLC. Although currently residing in Washington, D.C., this native Kansan is firmly grounded by her Mid-Western roots and values. Prior to moving to D.C., Karen practiced complex commercial litigation in Chicago. In addition to her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School, Karen holds a Bachelor’s Degree and M.B.A. from the University of Missouri and a LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
Kenny Hunter - Quality Control Manager and AOSCA Relationship Manager has built a 25-plus year career in the commodity seed industry. He has a strong background in agriculture production management, seed quality assurance, plant breeding, and inventory control. Kenny was raised on a small sustainable farm in south central Kentucky, and continued his pursuit of agricultural interests at Berea College. Kenny’s work history includes over fifteen years with United States Tobacco Company (UST, Inc.) as Seed Production Manager for the largest producer of hybrid tobacco seed in the United States. Additionally, Kenny spent a decade working as an Agronomy Specialist for the University of Kentucky managing both the Kentucky Foundation Seed Project and the Kentucky Seed Improvement Association, which included overseeing all seed certification in the state of Kentucky. Furthermore, as part of the reintroduction of hemp to the United States, Kenny chaired a national committee to develop and implement hemp seed certification standards.
J.T. Workman I.V. is a certified crop advisor, technical service provider for the NRCS, and farmer from Western Kentucky who has based his life in local agriculture. Raised on a family farm, J.T. has spent his adult life building his business on high standards of honesty and integrity. His commitment to staying on the cutting edge of agriculture paired with his approach to keeping farmers profitable has gained him a 160,000 acre customer base in Western Kentucky and Northwest Tennessee for whom he renders a number of agronomic and precision agriculture related services.
Olivier Beherec PHD, research cooperation to Schiavi Seeds, is a hemp breeder and ex deputy director of the National Federation of Hemp Producers in Les Mans France.
Przemyslaw Baraniecki PHD, research cooperation to Schiavi Seeds, specialist in hemp breeding and cultivation, directs the Group Institute of Fiber and Medical Plants in Poland.
Vladimir Sikora PHD, research cooperation to Schiavi Seeds, directs the hemp program at the Institute of Fields and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad Serbia.
